Deputy’s Desk | Swamphen Fesitival & Lightning Carnival
It is hard to believe that the end of another busy term is here. There has been so much going on. I would really like to thank the year 6 class and Mrs Bev Woodworth for the enormous contribution that the class has made organising the food for the Salvation Army. Food was donated and the students were able to participate in a variety of fun activities provided by the year 6’s during the ‘Swampen Festival of Stories’. Many children showed up to be entertained, and loved all the effort that the children had put into their productions. The contribution that you see in the photos below is all the food collected and also a large pile of blankets made by the year 6 group and donated to the Salvation Army. The students have really had their eyes opened to the needs of people less fortunate than us and I feel humbled by their efforts. They should feel proud of themselves. Yesterday TA9 presented Peter from the Salvation Army with this amazing donation along with a cheque for $290. He was so touched to see the difference that one class could make when they put in the effort.
Don’t forget the Lightning Carnival change of date, for all year 4 to 6 students is now Friday 20 July.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all families a safe and happy holiday.
